North Carolina Freedom Park (NC Freedom Park) is the state’s first park dedicated to Black freedom, located in the heart of the state’s capital. Designed by renowned architect Phil Freelon, the park honors Black history in North Carolina and serves as a powerful symbol of resilience and progress. To raise awareness and garner public support, NC Freedom Park partnered with Kompleks Creative for a new website design that could effectively engage visitors.

Given the new website’s objectives and target audience, our team reassessed the information architecture and developed a tailored content strategy. We provided copyediting and copywriting services, crafting clear and compelling messaging, while designing a custom WordPress site that encourages people to visit and support the park. The web design extends the brand’s color palette and incorporates geometric shapes, creating a dynamic, visually engaging look and feel.

Following the website launch, we implemented an search engine optimization (SEO) campaign that dramatically increased organic traffic. Our efforts boosted NC Freedom Park’s search visibility by over 4,000%, ensuring the site consistently ranks high in search engine results pages (SERPs).
