The Duke University Occupational and Environmental Safety Office (Duke OESO) plays a critical role in maintaining safety standards and providing resources to departments across Duke’s campus. As part of the Duke Health System, OESO offers training, best practices, and guidance for all Duke entities.

Seeking a website refresh with improved usability, Duke OESO partnered with Kompleks Creative to develop a new custom Drupal website design. Since the launch of their previous site in 2014, the volume of content had grown significantly, making navigation challenging for users who relied on the site as a primary safety resource.

To address these needs, we restructured the website’s information architecture and introduced a comprehensive document repository, allowing users to easily search and access resources organized by topic. The redesigned site not only enhances navigation but also improves accessibility and usability for both front-end users and back-end administrators.

The result is a streamlined, easy-to-manage platform that better serves the Duke community by offering quick access to critical safety information.
