The Carolina Federation is a statewide organization that brings local people together across race and the rural-urban divide to build political and electoral power in their own communities and across North Carolina. A new nonprofit organization aspiring to build a new, progressive political majority in North Carolina, they wanted a logo design that incorporated symbols rooted in North Carolina culture.

During our project kickoff meeting, Kompleks Creative immediately identified that they were drawn to logo designs that were circular and illustrative. Knowing that, we opted to create a shield using the colors and star from the state flag. The cardinal, our official state bird, taking flight above the land represents movement and pushing boundaries.

Once the logo was completed, we developed a custom WordPress website to house all of their information, build a following and seek support.
