Duke Integrative Medicine opened its doors to the public in 2006. The doctors and integrative health professionals there have spent the last decade providing customized, patient-centered care that combines conventional medicine with proven complimentary wellness techniques to help their clients optimize their health. In 2015, Duke Integrative Medicine found themselves trying to reflect exclusivity and serenity with their branding and digital presence, and were being held back by a dated, non-responsive website.

Kompleks Creative’s website design and website development used a cool, serene color palette that also held to Duke Health System design standards. We wanted to make it easy to find what you need on the website and gently funnel users toward the calls-to-action. Functionality is always key, so our approach was to streamline the navigation, reorganize the information architecture, and focus on mobile responsiveness so that the user experience (UX) on the website reflected the experience of visiting Duke Integrative Medicine―relaxing, pleasant and affirming. With WordPress integration, updating the website’s content is simple for the Duke Integrative Medicine team.

The Duke Center for Integrative Health Research strives to understand the biological, physiological, psychosocial, and spiritual effects of existing and potential therapies, and disseminate key research findings into clinical practice. As healthcare continuously changes, DCIHR wanted a website that reflects the transformations and serves as a platform to service research professionals, healthcare executives and patients.

Keeping the Duke Health brand intact, Kompleks Creative was asked to develop a web design that was user-friendly, engaging and accessible. We incorporated large videos and photos, vibrant colors and clear call-to-actions in an effort to create a client-centric experience. By integrating Drupal as the CMS, the team can easily execute updates to the website.
