Housing for New Hope is a nonprofit organization seeking to end homelessness in Durham, NC. They are proud to be a key part of a community-wide effort to provide housing, hope and services that lead to stability and success.

Housing for New Hope tasked Kompleks Creative with producing their first ever annual report. Inspired by our work for the Emily K. Center in Durham, they asked for a publication design that told the story of their organization’s growth over the last year. To appeal to their target audience, we selected images that could capture the eye of local entrepreneurs, donors and volunteers. The modernized Sanborne map typography, earthy texture and line work all pay tribute to the historical Durham tobacco economy. The colored circles and whimsical building illustrations bring levity to the design and reinforce the Housing for New Hope brand.

The final product was an engaging piece of fundraising collateral that reflects their core values of community and equity. Once the annual report design was finalized, we completed an envelope design that matches the visual identity established in the report.
