Jessamyn Stanley is a yoga teacher, body positivity advocate and writer based in Durham. As a yoga enthusiast who has been featured in People and Huffington Post, Jessamyn practices yoga around the world. She offers online and private classes, workshops and participates in retreats and festivals. After 5 years as a self-described fat femme, she believed it was time to create a visual brand that reflects her fresh attitude and ideals.

After years of following our work with Black Wall Street: Homecoming, Jessamyn asked Kompleks Creative to work on her branding, which included logo design, web design, brochure design and stationery design. In an effort to merge a 1960s style with a modern aesthetic, we incorporated retro colors, geometric shapes and classic typography. The design is inspired by a late 80s, early 90s native tongues hip-hop aesthetic made popular by early album artwork of A Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul. The end result is a fluid design with playful attributes and an unconventional navigation.
