A Place for Creative Pursuits, Cultural Events and a Hip Lifestyle
Formerly a textile factory that processed cotton into thread and produced pouches for Bull Durham tobacco, the Golden Belt Manufacturing Company was founded in the 1900s and ceased operations in 1996. In 2008, the Golden Belt property was reintroduced with a sustainable design and a historic restoration that embraced the funky industrial aesthetic to forge a unique urban environment where creative people live, work and play.
Ten years later, Golden Belt decided it was time to revitalize the space and re-engage the arts community. They asked Kompleks Creative to produce a website design that aids in space reactivation and brings life to the arts culture. With that objective in mind, we knew that the web design needed to highlight their artists, as well as their newly introduced programming.
Artists are bold, colorful and visual, so we felt that it was important for the website to incorporate these characteristics through the use of photos and typography. Keeping the user experience (UX) at the forefront, we made sure that website visitors could easily find what they are looking for.
The Golden Belt team also desired a website that they could easily manage in-house, so we integrated WordPress as the content management system (CMS).
