Historically known as the North Carolina Mutual Building from 1965, this iconic tower was the tallest building in Durham for decades and housed the corporate offices of NC Mutual Life Insurance Company until 2017. Under new ownership, the building was renamed Legacy Tower.

In an effort to preserve the Black Wall Street legacy, Kompleks Creative renamed the building Tower at Mutual Plaza and named the coworking space Provident 1898. Part of the naming project included writing the story behind each name and producing logo designs and stationery designs.
